Shailesh Kumar is India’s independent & leading investigative journalist. He currently leads National Defence as the Editor- in- chief. National Defence focussed on defense, strategic and international affairs. Shailesh Kumar has previously reported for India’s top leading television brands for nearly two decades.
He is also the founder and lead anchor of “Business Kaise Karein” YouTube channel. Shailesh Kumar is guiding India’s youth and motivating them to find self employment creating a value based ecosystem.
With over 24 years of experience, Shailesh Kumar has fearlessly reported for both Hindi and English language top and leading television news channels including Star News (now ABP), India TV, News X and News 24.
Shailesh Kumar started his journalistic career with The Pioneer newspaper and also reported for The DayAfter and Down To Earth (Centre For Science and Environment) magazines. He has extensively reported on health, science and tech, crime and social issues, politics, defence, security and international affairs. All along his career, He led Special Investigation Team (SIT) in television.
Before venturing into journalism and media, Shailesh Kumar has served as Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) project. He is UGC- CSIR NET qualified.
In mid of his career, Shailesh Kumar took a break from journalism and become Deputy General Manager in one of India’s leading IT company. He handled many Government projects encompasing boundary of a state.
In 2016, Shailesh Kumar quit television and became first mainstream television journalist to turn to YouTube as freelance and independent journalist. The same year, Shailesh Kumar founded National Defence, India’s most credible & leading defence, security and international affairs platform. The suit followed in diversification of content to other domains including Business, Entertainment etc.
Shailesh Kumar is prolific writer and lyricist. His interest lies in making films and philanthropy.
